DID YOU KNOW…

I hope everyone reading this is healthy and not too badly stressed out!

Did you know…. 

According to Dr. Barnard with the Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine, anti-oxidant rich foods may help give us a leg-up in aiding to protect ourselves from the coronavirus by helping to boost our immune systems.  The science is new but hopeful.  Here is a short list of high anti-oxidant foods that may be helpful:

  • Beta-carotene: carrots and sweet potatoes

  • Lycopene: tomatoes, pink grapefruit and watermelon

  • Vitamin E: nuts and seeds (a small amount is all that is needed)

Dr. Barnard discusses the virus in the most recent Exam Room Podcast entitled “Covid-19 Q & A with Dr. Neal Barnard” and encourages us to include these foods on our shopping lists.
